It was early morning at Perth International Airport. I was sitting on the bench near the entrance door waiting for my niece to pick me up. It was so cold and freezing and windy outside. So, here I am; in Perth. It’s like completing a promise I once made to someone, years ago. I’m so ready to go places he once mentioned about this “tiny” town in Western Australia.
Oh…there they are. I’d better get going and get some rest before starting my journey in the continent.
Welcome to Australia!

Welcome to Australia!

I was sitting on a bench in the city. I saw people passing by, but I was doing a contemplation. I was waiting for Lisa, my niece, who had a painting class that day in the city.
Feeling the cold wind breezed in my face, I whispered: “so, I’m here Chris. I’m your city. I’m in Perth, just like we had planned before. It must be nice if you were here. I know it for sure. I paid my promise to you: I’m in Perth. I went to places you mentioned in your mails years ago. I could feel your presence now; hearing your voice and your jokes, sitting next to me in this bench and taking me around, telling stories about your city.”
“Look at me, I’m crying no more! I want you to know that I cry no more!”
Off I go now, Chris…I’m going to Melbourne!
I’ve paid my promise to you: I have visited Perth!
“Look at me, I’m crying no more! I want you to know that I cry no more!”
Off I go now, Chris…I’m going to Melbourne!
I’ve paid my promise to you: I have visited Perth!
I went to King's Park, I went to Fremantle and I went to the traditional market in Fremantle.
Off I go now, Chris...I'm going to Melbourne!
